Wow!!  You all helped me raise over $12,000!  That’s awesome, thanks! I got envelopes from over 450 fabulous people! I’m going to go to Johns Hopkins on May 11th for appointments and I’m going to give Dr. Dietz a check to help find a cure for Loeys Dietz Syndrome.  Then, when I get back I’m going to go and give Make-A-Wish and All Children’s Hospital a check too!   I can’t wait to give out all the money everyone sent me.  My brothers helped me make a HUGE scrapbook of all the letters, cards, etc that you sent me and I’ll take that with me to show the people I give the checks to.  I’ll also have dad help me put pictures on the site too, so you can see me giving away all your money.  Thank you all so very much!

I have been asked A LOT if I was going to let Quentin’s Quest just come to an end.  I know I didn’t quite get to my million dollars and I didn’t quite get to every state either.  However, I got some really cool countries and I never even thought about getting to different countries.  Well, the answer is……  Quentin’s Quest part 1 has come to an end, but there is a Quentin’s Quest part 2.  You all know I love to cook, even if I can’t eat right now - (Dr. Guerrerio is working on fixing that problem for me).  Well, I’m going to make a cookbook!  I even have a name and an idea for the front cover.  The name will be, “Quentin’s Friends – A Cookbook to Help Others”.  Tyler, my big brother actually came up with the name, and I really liked it.  I want to put pictures of all my friends that have LDS.  I get to go to Boston this summer for a conference where my mom and I are going to learn more about Loeys Dietz Syndrome. While I’m there,  I’m hoping to meet some of the other kids with LDS that I have talked with by e-mail.  I want to take pictures of my friends and use that for the front of the book.

So, I guess I’m asking for your help AGAIN!  I thought if all my friends could send me their favorite recipe, then I would maybe get a ton of recipes for my book.  What do you think???  I’m going to need some pictures for my cookbook too, so if you can take a picture of the item after you have made it, then some of my recipes will have pictures to go with it.  You can send the picture and recipe to my mom on e-mail or to me in a letter.  My mom says, she thinks she’s going to be busy over the summer while she is off from teaching, getting this book together.  I can’t type very fast so she’s going to have to help me.

I want to keep track of where the recipes come from again like before, so please let me know that when you send me your recipe.  Also, if you don’t want me to include your name with the recipe then let me know, because I thought it would be neat to include places and names with the recipes in my book. When I was looking at some of my cookbooks, they also had things like what went good with the dish. Anything like that would be cool too.

So here we go, another project for me to work on and I can’t wait to start hearing from all those cooks and chefs out there! Remember, you can send me your favorite recipes in the mail or to my mom’s email, whatever works best for you.

Update: 08/01/2008

Hopefully you all know about Quentin’s Quest Part 2, but if you don’t, please listen up because it is important.   Quentin’s Quest Part 2 is all about people sending me recipes and then I’m having a cookbook published to sell.  This time all the money is going to the Loeys Dietz Foundation.   So what do I really need you to do???? Well, I really need your recipes.  Thank you to those of you who have already e-mailed me your favorites, now all you have to do is tell your friends to send me theirs.  People have asked what type of recipes I need – well, I’ll take any recipe that you like.  I plan on categorizing the recipes in the book, but I need them all by August 15th.   Mom has to get it all typed up and then published.  By the way if you know a publisher who would be willing to publish it for free, please let us know.   I really want all the money from selling them to go to the Loeys Dietz Foundation.  After it is made into a book, then you can help me again by buying one and selling them all to your friends.  I’m sure glad I have so many great friends to help me.  We raised over $12,000 with Quentin’s Quest Part 1 and I’m sure with all your help we will make the best cookbook ever!!!

Love,

Quentin

P.S.  Don’t forget to keep watching my website, www.quentinsquest.org.  We keep adding things - check out all the friends I met in Boston that also have LDS.  I also just found out that I get to have my picture taken with Mr. Dick Vitale for the front of a magazine this Fall so maybe I can put a picture of him and I on my website too.  It’s really going to be cool meeting him - who knows maybe I’ll ask him for a recipe!!!

Wow! We got the books in the mail on 12/1/09. Thanks again to all my friends who helped me out! If you want to buy a cookbook, please go to the LDSF website:

There are over 200 recipes along with other useful information that will help you cook. The cover is really cool. I tried to include as many of my friends on it as possible. We are asking $15 for the book. Remember that all the money goes directly to the Loeys Dietz Syndrome Foundation.

Thanks again!

Quentin

It's Finally done!
